Its an interesting way to explore the town but there are many other ways to explore. The boat charter can be really expensive. Also, make sure that the seas aren't rough before you go out. The beaches in Tauranga may be the most gorgeous beaches in the world however it can quickly become a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde if the weather turns for the worst.
