Mar 20, 2010 very nice botanic garden, not overcrowded, go there on a sunny day in the late afternoon and you will find heaps of places for your own, relax, soak in the fresh grassy air and take a nice panoramic picture with the cable car in the front, and wellington's skyline in the background from the top of the gardens :) Mar 2, 2012 The Botanic Gardens in Wellington are unique. To see it well you have to be very fit, there is a lot of climbing involved. But when you come to halfway up there is the peaceful rosegardens, with fountain in the centre and a very welcome cafe. Also the hothouse is worth a visit, lovely. Jul 5, 2010 This garden is such a peaceful and pretty place. You will find all kinds of plants and flowers, even herbs. The highlight for me was the rose garden with its infatuating smell. Take the cable car up the hill to the garden and enjoy the view on the way. Aug 28, 2011 Lots of different plants and walks. My favourite places are the Lady Norwood Rose Garden, the Cable Car and the tulips in spring. The children's playground can keep children entertained for hours and there are lots of toilets.
