Getting there:
From state highway 6 Turn down Stafford street. Keep going untill you come to a fork in the road which will have a sign post saying Lake Kaniere left or Hokitika Gorge Forward. Follow the Hokitika Gorge Sign. These signs will direct you through the valley for about 30 in min. Then the Road will change to Gravel for about 7 Km and take you to the Hokitika Gorge Carpark. From there you walk 5 Mins Down to the Swingbridge.

The Amazingly Aqua Blue of the Water , surrounded by rugged rock cliffs is a sight truley beautiful. Accessed by a swing bridge you get great photo oportunities. The path that lead you to the water is for confident walkers as it is across rocks. Once There many a travellers have been brave enough to jump into the alpine fed waters. A sight not to be missed it includes a nice drive through the Diary Farmland. The main industry of the Hokitika township. In spring you can catch a glimpse of the young claves.
