This was a really fun thing to do. We saw a lot of whales and dolphins.  Also there is some really cool hiking in this area where you can see a ton of seals. Kaikoura is BEAUTIFUL! Also, do a Kaikoura picnic...a bottle of local Sauvignon Blanc and a fresh crayfish right on the ocean, bliss.

It was a really fun trip although the weather wasn't really good and about half the people on the vessel got sea sick.
We saw quite a few sperm whales and were even lucky enough to see the rare synchronised diving of three male sperm whales.
The staff provided us with lots of information about whales and I think a lot of people now think differently about these indangered species.
You should book a few days ahead! When we were about to book our tickets, all the vessels were booked out and we had to wait if someone doesn't show up. We were lucky, but there were a lot of people who tried to get on the boats after us and not everyone could get a seat...

In case of good weather and a not so rough sea this is a must do. Once in a life time opportunity to see the sperm whale surface for air and preparing for his next dive to the abyss searching for some giant squid for supper. You also get to see albatrosses and seelions on the way. And, oh yeah, dolphins like to swim and play around the Moari managed whale watching ships.

No garantee to see a whale but we've seen 5 on one trip!!! Loads of dusky dolphins around, NZ fur seals and heaps of birds! Top class tour!

Wenn man zur richtigen Zeit hinkommt kann man mit dem Boot hinausfahren aufs Meer und hat tatsächlich die Möglichkeit Wale zu Gesicht zu bekommen
