Beautiful view of the volcano which is south of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. The crater constantly emits sulfur dioxide gas....the smell takes a bit to get used to! But the view and natural beauty is well worth the trip! A beautiful part of this Central American country.

The Masaya Volcano is beautiful. Make sure to go up on the side to see a panoramic view of the valley. Additionally fantastic is the mile walk around a dormant crater to the side. Be sure to bring water and wear good hiking shoes.

Just not to be missed! You can stand right at the edge of the crater and if you're lucky you'll can catch a glimpse of red lava. Very impressive! The landscape and the drive up there is nice too. (-:

Definitely worth seeing...no need to allocate a lot of time...my opinion though...
