In Jos, Nigeria there is a hospital called "Faith Alive". It was founded by Dr. Christian Isichei. He learned medicine in the states but wanted to use that to help his people in Nigeria. Poverty is so high there and HIV/AIDS is so prevelant. The story in the Bible about the Good Samaritan is what led Dr. Chris to starting this hospital. It was originally just a counseling center, but God had a bigger vision. Now, thanks to grants and many churches it is a 3-story hospital and counseling center and a satellite clinic is being built in a village 2 hours away called Bakin Kogi. Phase one of the satellite clinic is finished. The hospital does HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, treats any medical condition and also has a vibrant HIV/AIDS support group. I have personally worked in this hospital and in the counseling center. I also had the enormous pleasure of attending the support group. I have never seen so much happiness and thankfulness in one place! They are truly "Living Positvely!" God is so good and He is doing wonderful things at Faith Alive!
