Officially opened by King Harald on Dec 1998 as part of a polar environment centre, Polaria featuring the polar regions of Norway with a video presentation of Svalbard.  It is considered the considered the northernmost aquarium in the world.

See bearded seals do their training, walk on simulated permafrost and discover and see what arctic wildlife is like.

The polar museum is a visit back to the early hunters, fishermen, trappers and explorers in the Arctic.

Getting there:
Located walking distance from the cruise ship ports in the town centre.  From the town centre, walk along Storgata west.

Tromso was the farthest north I've ever been in my life, but I've always had a fascination of the arctic region, so it was cool to see the video on Svalbard, as well as to look at the various exhibits.
