I went to Narvik simply because it was the northernmost place on the Eurail train line. It is in the arctic circle and if you arrive in the peak of the summer, the sun never sets. There, my buddies and I made fast friends with a girl from one of the shops in the mall and picnic'd with her and a friend of hers. Later, at about 3 in the morning, with the sun still shining, she forced us to strip down to our skivvies and take a dip in the arctic ocean. There was a snow peaked mountain just on the other side of the bay, but we followed orders and waded into the water. It was very very cold. But now I can say i swam in the arctic ocean. Good times.
