Bar Valley, Dainter Pass Naltar Bar North Pakistan Trek
Bar valley is situated in the Nagar sub-division of the Gilgit District in the northern areas of Pakistan. It is connected to the the Karakorum Highway through jeepable road. The Valley is known of mountain ecosysytem. The traditional name of Bar is Shain Bar. The area offer a wide range of habitats for a variety of flora and fauna. The main tree species are willow, juniper, ash and birch, Siberian ibex and snow leopard are among the important wildlife species.

By late 1980's the natural resource of Bar were threatened because of population pressure, expansion of agriculture, increase in the number of livestock and subsistence hunting by the locals. The population of Ibex was nearing extinction and the snow leopards were also poisoned to protiect domestic livestock.

One of the most serious problem in part of the Bar Valley is the over utilization of certain pastures and valley bottom woodland for grazing and fuel-wood collection. Already there are encouraging signs of reduced incidences of landslides and erosion.

ITINERARY Day 1 - Arrival at Islamabad International airport, after recived you at airport transfer to centrally located hotel in Islamabad. In the afternoon city tour of modern city Islamabad and in the evening welcome dinner party at Margala Hills. Day 2 - Departure for Besham. Day 3 - Drive to Gilgit on famous Karakorum highway, en route stop at view point of killer mountain Nanga Parbat and junction point of three highest mounatin ranges of the world. Day 4 - Drive by jeep to Naltar Valley. Day 5 - Trek to Dainter Base Camp. Day 6 - Trek over the Daintar Pass. Day 7 - Trek to Taling. Day 8 - Trek down to Bar Valley. Day 9 - Drive to Chilas. Day 10 - Drive to Islamabad. Day 11 - Transfer to airport for onward flight.
