Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful and important Inca ruins in Peru. This place has so much energy, you really will feel it when you visit this place. You can visit the places in this city where they did sacrefices, but also the houses where the people lived and worked.

A place so famous you wonder if it can possibly live up to expectations. It does. When I went it was raining and misty but if anything this added to the incredible atmosphere this place generates. Just be careful if it's wet. Those stones can be slippery. If you haven't done the trek then do try the walk up to the Gate of the Sun. It's not for anyone with vertigo but the views are stupendous.

Why is Machu Picchu here marked to be in the center of Cuzco and not in the right place? It is definitely one of the greatest places on Earth, so people should look at it where it is really located (some hours by train outside Cuzco).

What can you say about Machu Picchu?? Well I'll tell you this .... all the photos and television programmes in the world won't prepare you for that magic moment when you set eyes on it for the first time for real.

amazing Incan ruins in the middle of the Peruvian jungle. Must travel by train or hike in (approx. 4 days) from Cuzco, there are no roads or vehicles to get there. Worth every second!

It's absolutely breathtaking but a little less so if you ride the bus to the top. If at all possible, hike it up from at least Aguas Calientes if not the entire Inca Trail.
