Cusco is the perfect colonial city of South America. Preserved old town with spanish architecture, the mountains around and, of course, the main place to visit Machu Picchu.
Even though having MP as the main touristic attraction, Cusco itself has a lot to offer and deserves a few days of travelling.

A nice place to sit and enjoy! Its central)Plaza de Armas)surrounded by good restaurants(low-budget till expensive),and you find the onliest McDonalds of Cusco here...(expensive!).
The cathedral is open but you may wear long ties.

Spanish cathedral, the locals dont like as they were forced to build it when the Spanish arrived. The best thing is inside they have a paining of the last supper with a ginnie pig about to be eater

some amazing religious artwork and just the sheer size of the building, and the incorporation of indigenous and colonial architecture, plus the painting of the last supper with a guinea pig rocked!

rien de plus commun qu'une cathedrale monumentale avec une fresque dorée, un peu comme dans toutes les grandes du peru.
