This mountain reaches a hieght of 6384 meters above sea level, and is the highest peak in all of Cusco region.  4-7 day treks in and around the mountain can be arranged with tour operators based in the town of Cusco.  While an actual ascent can only be done during the winter months (April to September) when the glaciers stay frozen and dont get slippery, circumventing the mountain will still take hikers to a a hieght of 5500 meters, with stunning views of the stark mountainous landscape extending for as far as the eye can see.

Getting there:
This mountain is located abou 10-15 kilometers from the small mountain village of Tinki.  Its a 2-3 hour bus ride from Ocongate to Tinki.  Count a full day in transit from Cusco.

This was probably the most beautiful mountain hike I've ever gone on. This mountain sticks out of the ground like an massive molar and gives the impression that it's free-standing and not connected any of the surrounding mountain ranges.
