Plaza de Armas
About Plaza de Armas
This is Lima's main plaza. It is surrounded by old colonial-styl buidings including a cathedral and everal buildings featuring beautiful wodden hanging balconies (for which Lima is famous for). The plaza is always crowded, and thieves tend to goncregate here so travelrs are advised to keep a close eye on their belongings.

Jul 10, 2009 It has the feeling of grandeur and there are also big colonial churches around it. One of them is the second largest church of South-America and where the remains, the cut off head of Hernán Cortes lies and also nearby a colonial big church dedicated to the first black catholic Saint of the Catholic Church. This all makes it a very interesting place in spanish colonial and catholic religion history. Nov 6, 2011 OK OK. You might have seen hundreds of Central Plazas duing your trip to South AMerica but this is different. It is the most beautiful of all you've seen. Plaza de armas from Central Lima is a must while walking Lima downtown. With many locals relaxing, working, chatting, selling , buying etc. It shows Lima real life. Jul 2, 2009 It was far from our hotel area (San Borja) but went there to meet some peruvian friends. Not the most impressive part of the city but still interesting to visit and see the colonial architecture. Sep 4, 2009 This is a beautiful place. A great place to take some wonderful photographs. I spent an afternoon here with my youngest son exploring and we had a wonderful time. Good Journeys!
