Jun 24, 2011 Mama Cocha & The Early Bird Center were opened in 2008 by Kiya Survivors an Anglo Peruvian Charity. When Suzy Butler founder & MD of Kiya Survivors found a badly beaten & raped young girl. Mama Cocha is a home for children & young adults with special needs, where the young girl lives today with 9 other special needs children! The Early Bird Center houses our therapy department which runs free therapy & support for the local community. One of our therapies is baby massage, we believe that by encouraging parents to give their babies regular stimulation, communication aids (sign) and positive touch (massage), we will help cut down the number of abuse cases, encourage and promote bonding between parent and baby, help the baby reach their full potential in the years to come and encourage them to feel confident and respected by their parents and community. Our team at The Early Bird centre offers the platform therapies in which to achieve this. Monday to Friday we also run a Play school for local children aged 1 - 5.
