About Valle de los Volcanes
Andahua, Peru

This valley is punctuated with all sorts of small volcanic ctraters and cones protruding from the ground.  To the north-east of Andagua, the river runs through a narrow lava canyon that is 50 meters deep, but only 5 meters wide, where there is an stunning water fall reaching over 40 meters in height.  Due to it's remoteness, very few travelers come to this area and is generally tourist-free.

Getting there:
This valley surrounds the village of Andagua.  It's a 6-8 hour bus ride from Arequipa (the bus back from Andagua leaves in the late afternoon and arrives in Arequipa the early morning hours).  It is also possible to arrive to Andagua by foot on a 6-day hike from Cabanaconde.
