Dec 4, 2008 Mt. Amuyao is the third highest mountain in the Philippines. It took us 5 1/4 hours to get to the peak with our guide (who was carrying a 40 kg bag of sand on his shoulder). He, and his village companions, usually make the ascent in 2-4 hours. It was muddy and wet on the day we went. You can do the return trip as we did, or continue on to Puli and to Banaue (with overnight gear). We came down in 4 1/4 hours. From the top you get fantastic views (as long as the mountain is not shrouded in mist or clouds). Related Links
