I too as a white tourist stupidly ventured into this "crime market", thinkin it would be a good idea for something to do that day with a local freind that i was visiting . OMFG !! Be prepard to hav one eye on the local thugs and thieves that want to stab you for 500peso, and one eye on the ground as you are walking on rotting planks and broken produce pallets that protect you from the raw sewage running in the gutters! The stench is VERY strong and the area is VERY dangerous for the ignorant tourist. If you insist on visiting carry a firearm if allowed, or if you cant access one, hire someone that has one!. SG or security guard are cheap to hire and can come with mosberg combat shotguns (carjackings are common).

Baclaran Market is the most ugliest/disgusting market I ever encounter, sales clerk/person will force you to buy their items once you already talk to them in addition with that they will threaten you once you did not buy the product that you asked. This is my experience going to that market, and i will not going to go to that market again EVER.

Baclaran Market is an open air market, where food and goods are sold. The smells can be nausea inducing, so have a hanky ready. Back alleys are quite dangerous, as there is always something illegal being sold and blackmarketeers are rampant.
