It's the 2nd largest mall in Asia. Can find anything and cheaper than buying in the US.

The Mall of Asia is literally a tourist trap. The floor plan might be big but it's surrounded by parking lots and nothingness (also part of their "record") that by the time it's closed, you're stuck there with nowhere else to go but a 90-min taxi queue. Why would a real backpacker travel for that?

"SM North EDSA" and "Trinoma" in Quezon City must each be double the size of Mall of Asia which only has 2 floors. Take the MRT to North Avenue, drops right there in 10 mins. No painfully long wait.

The MoA is the 3rd biggest mall in the world. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants, the world biggest movie theatre... you need a few days to see everything!

The largest mall in the Philippines is proof enough of the country´s vibrant economy. It is among the 10 largest in the whole world too!
