Early Human Archaeology
Excavation Site
They say that the journey is better than the destination, and it may well be said for this case.  I guess that I'm not enough of an Indiana Jones to appreciate ancient artifacts and culture, but walking through the bush and beside a stream and catch sight of some interesting birds and wildlife kept my interest.  One could also try climbing the steep inclines inside the cave, that is if you can stand the smell of bat droppings.

Getting there:

Rent a jeepney or a motorcycle at the town proper to take you to Brgy. New Ibajay, at the eastern side of El Nido.  Get down just after you turn left to enter the village.  Get a guide to take you for a 15 minute or so trek to the cave.

Well, ancient civilization isn't really my thing but the birds and the occasional mouse deer are a nice bonus.
