Bounty Bay is one of the only two locations on Pitcairn island from where boats can launch.  Bounty Bay is most famous as being the location where the mutineers from the British Royal Navy Ship HMS Bounty landed.  The shipwrecked remains are still contained about 3 metres below the surf.
