The Bochnia Salt Mine (Polish: kopalnia soli w Bochni ) in Bochnia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bochnia" title="Bochnia), Poland is one of the oldest salt mines in the world and the oldest one in Poland and Europe. The mine was established between the 12th and 13th centuries after salt was discovered in Bochnia. The mine was closed some time after World War I. In 1981 it was declared a monument.

I was there in summer time. It was a bit crowded. But the hall made of salt in the deepest point of the tour is wonderful. It's the best place to cure your asthma or any other diseases connected to the breathing system.

The oldest salt mine in Poland. If you don't like crowds probably the best time to visit this place is winter. It's highly recommended to go there and see the rest of the tourist atractions of Bochnia.

I went in December not so crowded but still busy. Wooden Stairs take you a long way down, and down, and down :), but well worth the walk.
Amazing place.
