Aug 19, 2008 The Royal Castle is one of the most visited places in Warsaw. It was built in the 14th century and as the name suggests it has been a home for many Polish Kings. The Castle has been destroyed by Nazis during War World II. The Castle that you can visit today is a remarkable reconstructions done in 1970's. The Royal Castle is located in the middle of a Warsaw Old Town (Stare Miasto / Starowka). It's full of beautiful stores, cafes and restaurants. There is many more places that are worth seeing in Warsaw. Wonderful, full of history and memories! Highly recommend it :) May 19, 2011 I put visiting this off for a long time, but when i finally did visit I was glad that I did. The reconstruction is well done, there are lots of activities going on there, I've been twice and both times coincided with concerts or theater. If you're here you should check it out. You cant miss it, right at the end of Krakowskie Przedmiescie at the entrance to Old Town. Aug 22, 2011 As in many Warsaw places, try to find 1945 picture of the Castle. Funny enough, Warsaw's Royal Castle is the only one in the world reconstructed under what was called a Communist rule.
