The Belém Tower sits on its own on the edge of the bank since it used to be on an island. Its late Gothic style celebrated Vasco De Gama's expedition and you can admire its external military d é cor with four storeys and a terrace that offers wonderful views of the surrounding landscape: where the river Tagus flows into the Atlantic Ocean!

Small defence post where the Tejo flows into the ocean. Most people go to Belem for the monastry but I think this tower in itself is worth a visit. I just love the mix of the different architecural styles, it makes this military building look like a big sugary cake. It has a few floors and a few exhibitions, there is enough explanation to be found. I liked the story about the sculpture of a little elephant, this sculpture was made after the first elephant arrived in Lisboa.

L'intera città è molto affascinamente, ricca di storia e cultura! è una città viva, gente di tutte le razze va e viene. Bellissimo l'acquario, o Oceario come lo chiamano i portoghesi, la torre di belem e l'edificio li vicino di cui non ricordo il nome.Le sue vie ti catturano, i bar tipici, i quartieri più disparati, una città da visitare!

Turnul Belem este unul din principalele puncte de atractie aici in Lisabona . E super si poti cumpara ca suvenir Turnul Belem pictat pe faianta.in jur de 1.75 euro depinde de unde cumperi,dar merita si daca veniti aici da-ti un semn de viata ca sa va arat locurile pe aici.

The Belem Tower is one of the 'hotspots' from Lisboa. It's a beautiful building. The Building tell's something about the history of Portugal.
There are a lot of other tourist, but there is a big pedestrian area around the tower so that thasn't matter.
