Loved it. You come here for the castle and you stay for the view. The only thing that is left of the castle are the battlements and you have to really use your imagination. You can walk around on these walls and picture the Moors and the Christian fighting over this piece of land. It is not hard to imagine why this spot was so important. The castle stands proud on the top of a hill overlooking nearly all of present Lisboa and the Tejo. There is also a camera obscura in one of the towers. They hold a demonstration every half hour and you have to put your name down on a waiting list to get in. It is really fun to see, as it really gives a fascinating 360 degree view over the city. If I remember correct it is free. A bit closer by the entrance there is a small exhibition on the history of the castle and the city. Interesting to watch but not an absolute must.

Breathtaking view! The walls are telling you stories about the old times... If you take the Eléctrico (12 0r 28 to Miradouro de Santa Luzia) you can see many beautiful things along the way (you can hop on ad hop off as many times you like). Get off at Miradouro de Santa Luzia, see the old Azulejos at the Church of Santa Luzia, have a view over the roofs of the old town and then take a little walk to the castle.

Vasco da Gama wandered about the place ages ago, situated ona hill, still in a great condition, place you can see from almost every part of Lisbon due to where it is located - really worth visiting, beautiful views over the whole city! another fuuny thing is that there are some household neighbouring the castle, you can just look down and see some people mowing the grass in their gardens ;D

Great view of the city, if you are visiting Lisbon you have to pass by the Castle and after you can have a Coffee in the (explanada da Graca) that was also a great view, if you are a foreigner or leave outside of Lisbon there is an admission charge, that is around 5 Euros, its worth it it will give a great understanding of the city.

In inima Lisabonei se afla si Castelul San Jorge. Ai grija ca urci mult pana la el asa ca putina miscare inainte nu strica si oricum Lisabona e un oras care te "pune " sa faci mult sport.
