Mar 24, 2012 This is actually the old town Doha! I really loved this place once I happened to be here! I visited it in the best time of the day also - the sunset.. and of the year - month of February - T-26 degree!! The evening prayer just started in the mosque located right in the center of the place. The extraordinary feelings about one different world - the one of Islam just rushed in the air around! The voice of the priest that leads the prayer is all around in the air! I made my pictures and film however with no problems. One can make photographs and filming inside and outside the mosque - NO PROBLEM! The atmosphere all around is also special in the context of the old arabic architechture and people hanging around in their national outfits. Many souvenir shops offer all different oriental staff for visitors of the souk.. Feb 15, 2009 This is a fun place. Plenty to eat, see, and do. Marvelous shopping. Sheesha for the adventurous. Historical. Great photo ops. Local style architecture. Understand it was the old souq, torn down to build a new souq...that looks like an old souq. At times, I thought I was in Albuquerque. Still....worth a visit.
