Feb 22, 2009 Designed by landscape architects as a romantic park, Romanescu Park is unique in Romania and in present is one of the bigest natural parks in South Eastern Europe. The park's project was awarded in 1900 at the International Exhibition of Paris with Gold Medal. French landscape architect Emil Redont, Jules Redont and Emil Pinard implemented the park design in reality by 1903. The park has 96 ha, water lake of over 4 ha, a hipodrom and velodrom of 20 ha, roads and alleys of over 35 km length a nd over 250 species of trees. In the park you can find a small zoo garden, a few restaurants, a castle in ruin (The Charmed Castle), an amphitheather, a concert arena, The Suspended Bridge...what can I say....it's a magical place :) and it's worth visiting !
