The original Dracula's castle!

Bran Castle was first built in 1212 as a wooden castle by the Teutonic Nights to create a more fortified position.  The castle is now a museum.

The Dracula's Castle is a renassaince-styled German-made castle that built it in 15th and 16th century. Sighisoara has German and Hungarian names too: German = Schassburg, Hungarian = Segesvár. In 1849 near this town fought Hungarians against Habsburg (Austrian) Emperor. Here was lost in the fight the famous Hungarian poet, Sándor Petőfi. The battle was won by Austria. In Sighisoara live nowadays mostly Romanian inhabitants but some German and Hungarian people also lives here.

Kicks ass!!! You have to check it out, definately worth it. Not creepy as you'd think, in fact, its very quaint and kinda romantic in a draculean sense. Make sure you buy some trinkets from the locals, they work hard to produce decent souveneirs for tourists. And Romania is an awesome country, so anything you can do to help out their economy is a good deed.

It's amazing that such a castle actually exists (in name). In appearance, it's an interesting castle to visit, although on the smallish side, but you can roam all over inside, and it does look peculiar. Watch out for the touristy shit on the outside that attempts to capitalise on the famous resident of that castle (Dracula, and yes, he really lived)

It was fascinating...It had the most shocking entrance with mounted animals and birds all in attack positions, secret passages (for servants) incredible wood floors, tapestries, furniture and a remodeled wing that had housed a mistress of the former king of Romania...a lot of white and gold overlay.
