Apart from vodka, Russia is probably more famous for its Kremlin in Moscow. Kremlin is Russian for 'fortified centre of town', and you can see that by the huge walls -most of them red- around the buildings in the Kremlin. Within those walls are museums, palaces where the princes used to stay, cathedrals, gardens, and so much more. If you have a lot of spare time and you don't mind waiting in line for a few hours, you can always visit the mausoleum of Lenin, where you can see the body of Lenin, still in excelent condition. Now, if you're not that much of a tourist, there's always the GUM, the most luxurious mall in Russia, with designers like Gucci, Versace, and so on. The GUM is located on the Red Square, next to the Kremlin, which is famous for the Saint Basil Cathedral. It is a great place to hang out and enjoy the view, the people and the atmosphere.

Kremlin. The main reason of giving only 4 stars is that it is very very expensive to visit the compound.Tourists on a budget cannot afford it.There are a lot of sights to visit inside this triangle which is closed by high walls .You have to deposit bags before entering which is anoying in itself.Think that actualy you wait twice to get in:once when buying the ticket ond once for depositing the luggage.Once inside you forget about everything and you begin to wonder about the construction the museums and al that history that rewinds before your eyes.Dont forget the Armoury and once inside dont miss the Diamond Fund.Tours are also available .

Love this place!! There is so much to see! Definitely check out the armory and the diamond fund. Extra tickets required but very worth it! I love all the old churches that are inside. Definitely plan to spend a couple hours at least exploring the place. Especially if it is a pretty day! There are also some great views of the Moscow river. And when you leave your are next to Red Square which is beautiful and houses the mausoleum with Lenin's body! Very cool!

Make sure to visit the Kremlin and the surrounding park when you visit Moscow. It is definitely worthwhile paying some money to visit the museum in the armoury and the Kremlin itself. Both are independent tours for which you can hire an audioguide. If you are not traveling in a group with a guide, these audioguides are great.

Enter the kremlin and a whole new world will be opened for you to discover. splendid museum (the armory) , splendid cathedrals, palaces, ... the whole place is just so fabulous . when in summer , the golden roofs shine - when in winter with a little layer of snow ... the greatest place of Russia.
