Coffin
Lenin's Mausoleum ( Russian : Мавзоле́й Ле́нина ; Mavzoléy Lénina) also known as Lenin's Tomb, situated in Red Square in Moscow , is the mausoleum that serves as the current resting place of Vladimir Lenin . His embalmed body has been on public display there since the year he died in 1924 (with rare exceptions in wartime).

This was also a place where the majority of Moscow 3-graders were taken when they entered the Pioneers. I do believe they will remove him sometime in the future and want to take my kids there before it happens. However, mind you! If you arrive at 12:35, you are late! Regarding lines, if you saw what they were in Soviet times, you would not complain now! If you are in the vicinity of the Red Square, don' t see why not to hop in. Polina.

One of the best sights to see when you are in the Red Square area of Moscow besides the St. Basil's Cathedral and Kremlin. The body is well preserved and looks very lifelike even after all these years. They keep telling that they will soon bury his mortal remains but it never seems to happen. There is always a steady flow of people waiting to get inside the mausoleum for a glimpse of Lenin's body.

Open only from 10.00am to 1.00pm, each day except Monday and Friday, and if you don't want to stand in the line for hours, you have to arrive half an hour before open, because the line could be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. :o)

This is just one of those things that is so weird you just have to see it if you're in Moscow. Quite creepy, and you have to just quickly walk right through; you can't really even stop there's scary soldiers nudging you along...

Not much to see here. Go only if you're really into seeing a dead person put on public display. If you want to see it, make sure you find out the schedule ahead of time, as it is only open to the public a few mornings a week.
