Peterhof - one of the biggest Russian sites. Founded by Peter the Great as a summer residence of the emperor, now Park takes tourists from around the world.
A wide fame and beauty of the park and fountains lead to a huge influx of people in serene summer days. Therefore it is better to visit Peterhof not choose the weekend and come early. Fountains are open from 10 to 17 hours (weekends from 10 to 18), and an hour after turning off the fountains of the park begins to close.
To get to Peterhof, the most convenient of the Palace Embankment by speed boat, "Meteor", or by bus from the subway station Avtovo or train station, from the Baltic to stop New Peterhof (by train still have to travel a bit on the bus or walk). During the summer weekends, you can choose a bus to get stuck in traffic, so in my opinion easier to swim in "Meteor," but this version is several times more expensive. The central figure in Upper Park is the fountain of Neptune. Lord of the sea looking sternly from his pedestal in the surrounding open spaces. Perhaps he would have seen and the Gulf of Finland, but the trees in the park and the palace itself prevent him from doing so.

Visiting this Summer Palace will leave you once again speechless. Strolling the gardens is like being in an outdoor museum - the statues are beautiful - the flowers are constantly being replaced every few weeks so that the view is always appealing - the fountains are amazing - especially finding the trick fountains - try to walk over the stones without getting sprayed by water - or take a seat under the 'umbrella' and see what happens next. Pitch a coin in Peter's boot and you will have good fortune. The Grand Cascade is an amazing sight to see and be aware that once inside the Palace - photos are not allowed - but they will check your camera, coats and bags until you are finished with the tour.

A must see place or palace whichever you call it!!! The gardens with water fountains and the stepped approach to the palace is simply stunning and fantastic. The art inside the palace is wonderful and not worth missing for anything. You have to remove your shoes and wear special shoes provided by the palace to protect the wooden floors. This is one palace I will never forget for a long long time!!!

An absolutely gorgeous property spread out over several acres. Plan to spend a few hours here exploring the pathways that go through the forest and all the levels of the fountains. Be sure to make your way to the ocean (maybe a 10 minute walk) for another view.

The food options here were disappointing here so try and bring something in or plan your visit to not coincide with a meal time.

Yeah, It's Great !!! It's marvellous Place - Piece of Art, - that has to be visited by any guest to great city-on-Neva of Saint Petersburg !!!
Especially it is very joyful to be sprayed from hidden joke-fountain - just from under your feet on pebble pavement, or from nearest shady bench ... ;)
