Jul 4, 2011 It is an ocean in the Asia's center! It is worth it to visit Olkhon Island, Maloe More Straight,Listvyanka settlement and, of course, Irkutsk - "the Paris of Siberia". Hotel Baikal in Listvyanka is Ok (good rooms, food and Siberian sauna)! SolarObservatory and Baikal Museum (Aquarium with living creatures from Lake Baikal) are good to visit. Nov 1, 2009 lovely place. i recommend taking a boat trip there. most of the lake is surrounded by narrow hiking trails. nice cows and goats graze the cliff faces freely, making for great photographs. there are a number of fishes that only live in baikal. the locals eat them raw. try it! the water isn't very polluted, so the raw fish tastes fine.
