Jan 14, 2009 Be careful driving in Samoa. The roads tend to have potholes, but the major risk are pigs, cows, horses and kids crossing and playing on the road. Roads outside Apia are often narrow and poorly lighted. Speed limits in Samoa are 25 miles per hour in the Apia area and 35 miles per hour outside Apia, with certain exceptions. Most main roads are tar-seald but secondary raods that lead to beaches are dirt and gravel and may be overgrown with vegetation. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for travel on these roads. Please take extra care while driving during the night. (not recommendet). Related Links
