If this is your first trip to Sub-Saharan Africa you absolutely HAVE to drown yourself for a while in the markets. The plethora of sounds, smells, colours is stirring up all senses. Just after half an hour later we excited and we were literally tired from this sensually overwhelming experience. Don't miss the various items for traditional healing and shamans in the surroundings of the market halls. If you ever fancied bat wings and other delicacies this is your call!

This old Markethall is not the only place I love: Dakar is a wonderful town, old and new, green and dusty. You have to discover it by yourself and you will understand, why I love Dakar.
