Jul 14, 2009 If you want to experience the real Seychelles, leave Mahe Island and go to la Digue, a small, tranquil island. There is basically nothing else to do than enjoying the wonderful beaches, snorkeling, looking for amazing corals and shells, taking a fishing trip (deep sea or big game) or a snorkeling trip to nearby islands (I recommend Coco Island), struggeling to open up as many coconuts as possible. Tourists are few so you can easily enjoy your own beach with perfect white sand from the shadows of equally perfect palm trees. It is easy to snorkel from the beaches of la Digue, and you will most certainly see turtles, reef sharks, rays and other species of fish. There are no private cars on the island (only a few service cars), but you can rent a bike to get around the island. Paradise is found on la Digue!
