Nov 2, 2008 Located a few miles west of Bratislava, this castle was once part of the Roman border in the first century A.D. and later became the seat of the Great Moravian Empire and a strategic post during the Turkish Wars. Modern-day Devin Castle is basically the remains of an old fortification - long history of different culture/nations who lived in the region. However, from top of the castle you get great views of the river as well as a glimpse of Austria.Devin Castle's super-easy to get to by bus, as the Bratislava-Devin bus drops you off at the foot of the castle. P.S. The castle is basically the border between the 2 countries
