One of the most prominent landmarks of Cape Town, Table Mountain is a large, 1,086m flat topped mountain plateau surrounded by steep cliffs.  The mountain can be accessed by hiking trails, or by a cablecar.

An adventure to the top of Cape Town ’s famous landmark offers stunning views of the city and surrounding Peninsula . Catch the cable car or if you have the time and the energy take one of the many walking trails up the mountain. Sunpath Tours offers something different for those interested in learning about the Mountain’s sacred sites and spiritual significance. www.sunpath.co.za

One of the most beautiful places in South Africa and you must go see it if you visit this wonderful country. It has a cable car to take you to the top and once you are up there, it has a restaurant with spectacular views and believe it or not, it also boasts a post office where you can send your postcards from. I actually used the pay phone and called my folks just to brag where I was at. Now, for you fitness fanatics.....there is also another way up to the top if you do not want to pay for it. You can hike it....takes you a while but is well worth it. You must also remember that when the clouds are on top of the mountain, you will not be seeing very much, so choose you times wisely.

This is probably an obvious choice but i have enjoyed my trip to table mountain. From where i used to live we drive on the other side of the road so the trip made it more exciting for me cause it was my first time (first day) to drive on the left side of the road. anyway, you'll love the view of from the top and they'll give you a welcome wine (or at least they do when i went there years ago). i think that was a nice touch. and oh, i love this city -- it is very beautiful and i envy that they have the mountain, the beaches, the winelands all within a comfortable distance.

If the weather is even slightly cloudy - DON'T BOTHER going up in the cable car! You must have a clear day to fully appreciate the views. You will feel like you are on top of the world and the views are breath taking! Get there early to get your tickets because the weather can change so rapidly that it can be clear in the morning but cloud over later in the day. TIP- don't bother eating anything from the restaurant at the top - average doesn't even cover it.

This moutain is not very high, but if you go up there you will be able to see the wonderful sight of cape town. however there is one thing you have to be noticed. you have to check out daily weather news before going there. because there is a lot of fog around there. so, there is no more 60 days during the whole years you can see clear cityscape. :)
