I had an interesting day in Oudtshoorn visiting the Ostrich Farm. Got to ride one and learned that they are very loyal partners.... even long after their mates have died. Sad, isn't it. But it was even sader, when at the end of the visit, we ate the Ostrich :)

Oudtshoorn is known for its Ostriches and more uniquely, Ostrich-riding! Make sure you go on a dry day, though, or the conditions may be too dangerous for the birds. Fun!

Funny to see the ostriches moving their head up and down in a huge field. Then the caregivers are racing on the back of the Ostrich down an alley
