Mar 2, 2009 I'd recommend that one gets at least some background info on apartheid in South Africa before visiting this amazingly comprehensive museum... and this is coming from a person who generally doesn't even like museums. Maybe it's because this one is so much about life, people and consequences rather than dead relics. Check out my blog about my experience there and complement your findings with a visit to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island (and of course, Robben Island itself!) in Cape Town. Note: Make sure you allocate at least a few hours to do justice to your visit to the Apartheid Museum. Oct 22, 2011 Wonderful exhibits showing the hardships and history during the apartheid era. You even get two types of tickets and two separate entrances: white and non-white. It's a place full of emotional struggles and you will feel it, even if you are the most aloof person in the world. Apr 3, 2009 Your journey into South Africa will not end until you visit here. You will see how this country has been home to hope and despair, from long ago until today. See - Is the apartheid really history, or still alive in today's world?
