They call it the black island because the landscape is so dark due to several volcanic eruptions. You can visit Timanfaya Nat Park with active volcanoes and los Jameos del Agua (underwater volcanic tube). There is nice sea food in the villages along the coast and a marvellous view of neighbouring Fuerteventura and La Graciosa.
