About Cuenca Old Town
The old town of Cuenca is built on a sloping rocky platform whose sides plunge down into river gorges. The restored 14th century Hanging Houses (Casas Colgadas) defy gravity from their perches on the edge of the gorges and are now home to the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art.
The castle at the top of Cuenca provides some of the best views of the old town. In addition to viewing the Hanging Houses, it can be a fun experience to wander the narrow streets and historical buildings, as well as check out the 13th century cathedral. Payment Accepted:
