Toledo Old Town
About Toledo Old Town
Toledo has a very rich history that is reflected in their historic old town. Christians, Jews, and Muslims have largely lived in harmony here for many centuries Located in a spectacular setting along the banks of the Tagus River, Toledo’s old town contains an impressive 13th-15th century Cathedral with its outstandingly detailed choir stalls. Elsewhere in the old town, if you just wander through the maze of streets, you will encounter a medley of churches, palaces, and houses, and discover much that is enjoyable. Some other highlights include the Moorish Alcazar (fortress) that dates back to the 10th century, the remaining Jewish synagogues, and the Santa Cruz Museum with its El Greco collection.

Feb 15, 2010 When I visited this place it was quiet and a place you could imagine yourself in in the past. There were some beggars but not as many as Paris or Madrid. The museums and history are very good. There is a synagogue that's quite old and beautiful. Sep 15, 2011 The street of coblestone the churchs, the museun . The damsquino arts in iron is very beatiful handcraft. The city received Arabe Jews and Cristmas influence. Sep 27, 2009 A beautiful and interesting place to explore. Not far from Madrid. If are going out for dinner try: Cochinillo asado o al horno, una especialidad fantástica!
