Sep 16, 2008 I've lived there, so I really love this place... The center of the city, and the life of it as well (but let's not forget about it's nightilife!) At the winter we have the "nochevieja universitaria", almost 35.000 students celebrating the previous new year with their classmates, awesome!!! At september, the "ferias de salamanca", at june "festival de artes de castilla y leon", last year we had a pillowfight organized by the "erasmus" students in town... And also a flashmob on a rainy day... : / At the summer, before going out everybody get togheter over there... Everyday, or almost everyday somebody meets under the clock, that's the meeting point of the city "bajo el reloj..." At the end of the winter, beggining of fall, let's go over there to take a sunbath!!! Having some ice cream, and lots of fun!!! By the end of the day, be there and wait for them to turn on the lights... A spectacle! Don't miss passing through my favorite place in the whole world! Jan 17, 2009 Plaza Mayor is magnificent!! It's not only very beautiful and historically interesting. It's also full of life! Every night there is something to do (in the summer at least!) And at the beginning of the university there are a lot of things to do!! The plaza has some nice and sjiek bars and restaurants and some good ice salons! It was indescribable ! Oct 28, 2008 One of the best places in the country to see people and get a coffee. (The latter can get a little pricey, but still needs doing at least every few days.) Generally very quiet until around noon, then very active until midnight, even on weekdays. Serves as an excellent source of orientation within Salamanca: cathedrals and university to the south, bars and historic buildings to the west, bars and shops to the north, and bars and post office to the east. The hustlers often encountered in other public plazas (Milan stands out for me) are few and far between in this town. Jul 23, 2008 This place is one of the most animated and biggest place in Spain (after Madrid and Barcelone, of course). There are a lot of shops all around. In cas of rain, it's very funny to run throught the place. Or very stupid, I don't know, but it made us laugh :)
