One of the most amazing,beautiful city's in Europe.Somehow i always felt home there. Wonderful narrow old streets will take you towards the large and noisy Ramblas boulevard where you can hear and see almost everything you could imagine. There's live music, and also plenty of shops and people are everywhere. If you would walk a bit farther you'd reach the famous statue of Columbus, and after that you're at the sea. Barcelonetta beach is a perfect place to get brown under the Spanish sun or to enjoy the evening and have a drink with friends on the beach or in one of many bars around.

You can visit some others beaches in Barcelona, less crowded, better quality and with no hawkers (there are hundreds in there).
Just take the train a few kilometres to south to reach white sand and crystal-claer water beaches or to the north to reach blue water and deeper beaches.

the Barcelonetta's beach is a perfect place to wind down after a busy night, maybe to drink a bottle of wine (ok, it's prohibited... :P ). if in the nearby bar s.marta you see jesus smoking marijuana just cheer to him with another glass of estrella. you are in Barcelona! :D

There are palm trees along the route and you have a large open walkway that stretches all the way from Barceloneta to Icaria beach, the next beach along from Barceloneta beach. Around this area you will find a wide selection of Bars and restaurants serving fresh sea foods.

Well it's not the cleanest and nicest beach but the fact that it is a beach in the city is just wonderful.
Perfect for relaxing after travelling three months with the backpck through Europe!
