It's a very important shopping area. Besides, you can see the Metropolis Building which is a landmark there.
You'll enjoy shopping, and you can find whatever you want : leather, clothes... Moreover, you can find more than one El Corte Ingles (Spain's largest department store) for clothes for Hogar (furniture).
You should be careful from pick pocketer.

Gran Via is one of the liveliest streets in Madrid and very different from one point to the other. It connects most of my fav places in the city and there are many theaters, cool places to it and some curious shops around.

I was there las July and I confirm: it's too hot. Don't forget your Sun Protector Lotion on face and arms. The city is amazing, prices very good and people... so sympathic!
