It was a pleasure to visit the Museo de la Reina Sophia in Madrid.  It houses a multitude of artistic treasures of Spanish modern art.  I love the art of Miro, Dali and other noted modern Spanish artists so found this a delightful place to visit.  This gallery is most noted for its collection of Picasso and holds his most famous painting, Guernica. There are also some surprising pieces from different artists in a style that you would not expect from them.  The pieces are organised by theme and not artist which I did not like (except for Picasso), but this allows you to compare and contrast the different artists and styles in the same theme.

Very good museum of modern art. Picasso (spains most famous painter) and Goya are amongst some of the artist featured here. You'll need only about 3 hours to see everything a bit more if you like to really view I depth.

Beautiful artwork, amazing museum. Free between 5-7pm, so fantastic to go at that time of day, 2 hours was enough time to quickly see everything but I could have happily gone again.

If you visit Madrid and you like art and painting you must visit Museo Reina Sofia. The recent building expansion by Architect Jean Nouvel is also interesting for a visit

That's a museum of modern art, one of best in world, located in Madrid's city centre. There are lots of famous pictures, like Guernica. Visit it!
