It is the center of the city and everything is within walking distance. The streets branch out from this square. The Plaza Mayor is very close. The subway is close. The people are very friendly. Very fun place. There are usually mariachi bands playing in the square in the early evening hours.

From Puerta del Sol you are in short distance to many great restaurants, bars, shops, Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, and Gran Via, and a few Irish Pubs. If you like exotic bier, check out Natur Bier with some German sausages!

Madrid is one of Spain most notorious cities. Lots of theaters and very exiting nightlife. Also many good places for tapas and cheap good wine. Lots of monuments and the big Museum "El Prado" is a must see...

well-u have to be there, all around people with smile on their faces, completly different atmosphere than in England!!! dances on a street seriously-worth to go sit and enjoy it!!!

At Sol you are in the heart of the city. Just pick a road an enjoy the city. Another strategic metro stop is Callao. For good and everage cost tapas go to Plaza Major bars. Enjoy!
