Nuwara Eliya is a bit of an escape from the sweltering heat you may encounter in many other parts of Sri Lanka. Here, you're at a comfortable (much cooler) elevation. Many Sri Lankans visit this area for a vacation, for good reason. Lots of waterfalls and misty mornings are common. If you're looking for a scenic train ride in Sri Lanka, then this part of the hill country is the place to go! Spend a day and wander around town...most people don't and they're missing out.

it is a great place on the highlands of sri lanka with perfect waterfalls. tea plantations of sri lanka are located close to nuwara eliyia
