Originally a Bird Sanctuary, Bundala is now a full fledged National Park, not far from Ruhunu (Yala) National Park. Close to the coast it has a mix of jungles and hilly, sandy landscapes. Most popular for birders, but Elephants are plentiful as well.

It's a great place to visit, Lot of Birds and not crowded as other places.excellent.

Bundala was a great park to visit after some Jeep Safaris in Yala. It is easy to get spoiled by the bears, leopards and other animals in Yala, but Bundala delivered by having virtually no other tourists around. Having a park virtually all to yourself is a great feeling, and the birdlife and animals here were awesome too!
