Pinnawala - The Elephant Orphanage where you can see hundreds of elephants from babies to very old.
Every year a lot of elephants are lost and while alone they don't know how to survive isolated from their families. Therefore, if they are kept in the wilderness, they will die. This orphanage takes charge of these elephants. You can see baby elephants fed with bottles of milk, elephants taken to the river to be cleaned and elephants grazing. Besides, you can see very old ones and even blind ones.
You can also have lunch in restaurants while waiting to see the elephants fed and cleaned.

There were so many elephants. I've never seen that many before in my entire life. People were even riding them and having them carry and pull stuff like they would do with horses.

It's pretty touristy, but very nice to visit.

A bit over priced, but good fun.
