Dec 6, 2008 Wadi Halfa' is a little more than a bedouin village as you cross the border between Egypt and Sudan. It lies on the shores of Lake Nasser, the only real attraction round there. Ideal for a short, relaxing stay. Best way to travel is on a four-wheel-drive vehicle, possibly fitted with an engine air inlet on the roof so as to cross rivers and streams without getting stuck right in the middle. If you are the adventurous type you may choose to drive all the way from Aswan or even Luxor along an ancient route of mind-boggling beauty. Nov 10, 2009 Lake Nasser is a fair walk from Wadi Halfa, especially in fifty degree heat! Save the view for the ferry to Egypt and spend your time in Wadi Halfa instead, with a cold drink and a falafel. The ferry is the best view of the lake. Related Links
